I've probably got a modest total of 300 or so dvds - 250+ would be Asian movies. Most of the movies I bought over a relatively short period of times; probably 3 years or less. But I haven't bought much recently, mainly given the fact that there's seemingly less time for movies.

Movies that the box office loves, critics love - and the rest of us hate!

Okay, after writing the review of Transformers 2 you can guess where I'm going. But here's another case of a huge Hollywood blockbuster that really is just a diamond-studded turd.

True, this isn't a movie that is critically acclaimed, but oh well...

So what movies do you hate with a passion, but it seems that everyone else loves.

To answer both criteria as in the topic line, for me it'd probably be -

Well, to kick it off, Cast Away. I should have put Tom Hanks on my 'hated ...

Jet Li is quite a talented onscreen fighter and generally a reasonably good actor (given the role). That said, it's really sad when his US productions are lacklustre and more fizzle than anything else. Sure he can produce the goods at on set for the action, but more often than not, his non-HK movies have something inherently wrong with them - script, co-stars, etc.

Your mission board-goers is to vote for the worst of Jet's foreign exploits - and let's hear why.

Avoiding the 'favourite movie fatigue' blues

Everyone has a favourite movie, right? One that you tell all your friends about. One that you recommend to all your friends' friends. Something you tell everyone you could watch "over and over and over again."

Bollocks to that! I think it's impossible for a movie to be perfect, let alone for a movie to be good enough that you could watch it endlessly.

There are movies however which I do love, though I don't know if I could commit to saying that I love watching them every ...
