Too many to mention in one go so I'll highlight some when I have a few minutes spare.

"Manhunt" 4/5

This Norwegian entry into the stalk and slash genre is probably my first experience of this nations movie making, and as this sort of film goes it works pretty well. Brutal and just a tad disturbing, the tale (Set in 1974 which may have some relevance?) follows a somewhat clichéd plot where four friends who go on a weekend break camping and hiking in the woods instead of finding fun sex and whatever else takes their fancy discover that their lives are in danger from a hunting party where they become the prey. Some of this is way too realistic for its own good.

"Mr Vampire 2" 3/5

I think I actually enjoyed this less the second time around. Lam Ching Ying and Yuen Biao's comic timing is spot on. The support cast are great too, but the kid vampire sub plot is just so boring. :|

"Undead Or Alive" 3/5

This is a comedy horror western featuring zombies that has some laugh out loud moments but is pretty low on scares and gore. For a low budget effort the cinematography is pretty impressive though making this one of the best looking horror films ever.

"King Of Beggars" 3.5/5

Some nice action in the final reel helps wake you up after the slow middle section.

"Martyrs" 2.5/5

Two thirds disturbing gory horror and one third WTF thanks to a plot development that changes everything. This has got quite a reputation for being shocking but the final third makes no real sense at all.

"Magic Cop" 4/5

Lam Ching Ying at his comic best with some fantastic supernatural action. (Wha hoo!) Nuff said. Very Happy

Yesterday I reviewed “Mr. and Ms. Smith”. I like Brad Pitt! And Angelina Jolie is consummate as usual!
