| Stoo, I would be really happy if you introduced Podcast on Fire here and put news and new project links here. Drunken Master's post reminded me that I had wanted to open a separate topic for that great site. And I would be really grateful if that Lam Ching Ying edition you had could be somehow heard on the Lam Ching Ying site. Is it possible? As a link? As a file? Could we possibly talk about it? Thank you for considering it. http://podcastonfire.com/ | |

| I am truely honored you've given us a section on your website Katalin It is a crime that I don't visit this website as often as I should, right I've booked marked the website. Podcast on Fire is...Podcast On Fire is a weekly podcast featuring several staff members from several Asian Cinema review websites, that discusses a large range of topics related to the Asian Cinema. The first show was launched on October 22, 2007 and was made available through HKCuk, known as “Podcast On Fire” (a take on the Ringo Lam’s “On Fire” series), the website was launched in November using WordPress. Usually lasting at least forty five minutes to an hour, Stewart Sutherland (formaly HKCuk.co.uk), Kenneth Brorsson (So Good Reviews.com) and Mike Banner (Far East Films.com / Greenfan Dvd.com ) are the lead hosts. They are usually joined by Jeff Wildman (former reviewer @ HKCuk.co.uk), James Aylmore (former reviewer @ HKCuk.co.uk) and Adam Torel (owner of Third Window Films.com). oh and a little warning, the language could get a little crued at times. Our most memorable shows and shows with plenty of Lam Ching-Ying references;Podcast On Fire 43: Urban Hong Kong Celebrity Survivor (I plug Lam Ching-Ying.com's new forum) (Just Right Click and Save File As to download the full episode) Podcast On Fire 41: The Troublesome God Of Gamblers goes to a birthday party at Guanshan part 12 - The Prequel (I mention Mr. Vampire as one of my all time favorite series) (Just Right Click and Save File As to download the full episode) Podcast on Fire 40: Stop being a Dick! (I discuss Mr. Vampire 2 as my Last Movie Watched) (Just Right Click and Save File As to download the full episode) And of course our LCY Special; Our Lam Ching-Ying Tribute Special (Just Right Click and Save File As to download the full episode) We also do commentary's on asian cinema! well we've done two so far and one of them was indeed; Eastern Condors! You could either download it and play it alongside the HKL DVD or watch it on Youtube; https://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B4DCB7F35FF70ECE | |

Guys, you are great and I remembered talking about this on the old Forum and I remember that the LCY special was a new thing back then when we lost the site. | You couldn't be any more of a technical idiot that I am! Once you've tried it once you'll quickly get the hang of it.
A Podcast can be a professional or fan based broadcast that can be listened to through the internet. The PodcastOnFire shows are mostly done by three genre fans and they talk about recent films watched, something topical, discuss underrated films and answer listener questions. Some shows are topic based, like the Lam Ching Ying special, the recent Jet Li special and there is currently a series dealing with Japanese films.
I find the best way to listen to the podcasts is to download it to my PC so I can transfer it to my mp3 player. I uses a download manager (GetRight) to make it quick and easy, but you can probably just download through your PC if the internet speed is good. If your PC connection is fast enough you can just stream it and listen as it plays, but the mp3 works for me as I travel a fair distance to work so it gives me something to occupy my time as I travel.
Be warned. Some of the podcasts contain some "colourful" language........ but for me it's great to hear others talking about Asian films with such enthusiasm. | |
